Al Hilal have confirmed that Brazilian midfielder Joao Cancelo is out for the rest of the season with a knee injury.
The 25-year-old has been ruled out of action until at least January due to the severity of his injury, which he sustained in a match against Al-Ahli on November 16th.
Cancelo's absence will be a big blow for Al Hilal, who were already struggling without their key players such as midfielder Adnan al-Haddad and striker Hadiya Al-Nahdi.
Despite being a young player, Cancelo has made a significant impact in Saudi Arabian football,Bundesliga Express having previously played for Manchester City and Real Madrid.
He was also part of Brazil's squad for the World Cup in Russia last year, but suffered an ankle injury during the tournament.
Cancelo's departure from Al Hilal will undoubtedly leave a void in the team, but the club will hope to find a suitable replacement soon.
